Better Health – NOW Backs Senate Behavioral Health Integration Measure

The Primary Care Collaborative’s Better Health – NOW Campaign members offered strong support for S. 1378 the Connecting Our Medical Providers with Links to Expand Tailored and Effective (COMPLETE) Care Act in a July 10th letter addressed to bill sponsors Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) and Senator John Cornyn (R-TX).

Calling the bill “a constructive step to empower primary care and respond to these overlapping behavioral health crises,” the letter highlighted bill provisions that would improve the behavioral health care available to Medicare beneficiaries in primary care settings, including:
•    enhanced Medicare payment rates for collaborative care and general behavioral health integration services,
•    support for quality measure reporting for behavioral health integration, and
•    investment in technical assistance to broaden adoption of integrated care.

Better Health – NOW is a Campaign of the Primary Care Collaborative aimed at changing how and how much we invest in primary care – so we all can have better health. Whole person primary care, inclusive of integrated behavioral care, is a core policy plank of the campaign. Learn more about Better Health – NOW HERE.

PCC and Better Health – NOW congratulate Senators Cortez Masto and Cornyn for their efforts to enhance behavioral health integration in primary care! Read the full letter BELOW.
