Tamar Magarik Haro

Tamar Magarik Haro is Assistant Director of the Department of Federal Affairs at the American Academy of Pediatrics.  At the Academy, Tamar leads federal legislative advocacy and regulatory initiatives on FDA medical product issues, disaster preparedness, mental health, and immigration.  Prior to joining the Academy in September 2010, Tamar served as Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Children and Families of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, chaired by U.S. Senator Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.). Before that, she worked on health care for Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) as a Legislative Assistant.  Tamar is the recipient of numerous awards for her work on behalf of children and families.  She graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a B.A. in Political Science and Russian.
