Suzi Montasir

Suzi Montasir currently provides technical assistance and support to YMCAs across the county implementing the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program. In addition, she works specifically with Ys delivering programs funded by the CDC Community Transformation Grant (CTG) and Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) initiatives with a focus on building linkages between health care providers and community-based organizations in African American and Hispanic/Latino communities. Through her previous experience, Ms. Montasir has worked on projects related to reducing health disparities around childhood asthma with a focus on the family-centered medical home approach to care, childhood obesity prevention, research around community food access and availability, and research around gender-based HIV prevention programs tailored to families receiving psychiatric care. Ms. Montasir earned a Master of Public Health degree in Community Health Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Michigan.
