At NCQA, Dr. Barr works on tackling big issues in our health care system – promoting delivery system reform and leading NCQA’s performance measurement, research, analysis and consulting work. Prior to joining NCQA, Dr. Barr was Senior Vice President of the Division of Medical Practice at the American College of Physicians (ACP), where he helped lead advocacy for the PCMH model and practice transformation. Dr. Barr thinks that among the changes needed to strengthen our health care system, two key needs include reducing the burden of non-value-added work required of health care professionals and changing the payment model from fee-for-service to one that aligns with the goals of the triple aim.
