Merilyn Francis

Merilyn Francis serves as Project Director of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI) Support and Alignment Network (SAN). In this role, she is responsible for leading this new initiative to engage patients, families and communities in decision-making around smarter health spending, using the framework of the nation Choosing Wisely campaign.  

Prior to working at PCPCC, she was Principal and Group Lead for the Clinical Process & Quality group at the MITRE Corporation’s Center for Transforming Health where she used her knowledge across projects for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and other U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies.  Other past experiences include the position as Vice President for the National Quality Forum and Director of Quality Management and Health Services Research for the American Association of Health Plan (now known as AHIP). 

Merilyn has a Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) from the American University School of Public Affairs, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)for the University of the District of Columbia and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics from Simmons College.
