Leigh Simmons

Leigh Simmons, MD, is a graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and trained in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served as a chief resident in 2007. Her clinical practice is with the Internal Medicine Associates at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she focuses on the care of the medically complex patient. 

Her research interests include patient engagement in care and shared decision making. Dr. Simmons is a physician fellow at the John D. Stoeckle Center for Primary Care Innovation (www.stoecklecenter.org) where she studies the use of video decision aids to help patients and clinicians in the shared decision making process.

In addition to her clinical and research interests, Dr. Simmons serves as a medical student educator and directs the outpatient internal medicine clerkship for Harvard Medical School students at Massachusetts General Hospital.
