Lawrence Hill

Dr. Hill was an undergraduate student at Ohio State University, received his DDS degree from Case Western Reserve University and his master of public health from the University of Minnesota. 

He served as the Dental Director of the Cincinnati Health Department from 1978 until 2008 and served as the volunteer Executive Director of the CincySmiles Foundation. Under his leadership, the annual program budget of the foundation increased from $90,000 in 1988 to more than $3 million in 2009.

Dr. Hill served as the President of the American Association for Community Dental Programs and currently serves as that organization’s executive director. Appointed by the U.S. Secretary for Health and Human Services, he completed a three-year term on the National Advisory Council of the National Health Service Corps.

Dr. Hill has provided and continues to provide consultation for a variety of efforts to improve oral health and access to oral health care, including the W.K. Kellogg/Community Catalyst efforts to establish dental therapists. He served as a consultant for Prudential’s DSMO and the DentaQuest Foundation’s Safety Net Solutions. He currently serves on the board of Universal Health Action Network – Ohio (UHCAN) and is a member of the Governing Council of the Ohio Public Health Association.
