As the Policy and Communications Associate at PCC, Kirsten Barboza supports the Director of Policy and the Senior Communications Manager in advancing patient-centered primary care policies as well as making these policies more accessible through communications.

Prior to joining the PCC, Kirsten served as a Research Technician III at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. She acquired firsthand knowledge of the healthcare system via patient and non-patient facing roles. At Children’s National Hospital, Kirsten conducted research that provided birthing people of color diagnostic information on their high-risk pregnancies. At the University of Pennsylvania, she conducted research to discover the connection between socioeconomic status and childhood brain development. Lastly, during her time as a pharmacy technician at CVS Pharmacy, she strove to achieve the lowest possible copays for patients.

Kirsten graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience and a minor in chemistry.
