Since 2000 Johnston has been the owner and a physician at Johnston Family Medicine. She also serves as the medical director at the Carroll Physician Hospital Organization in Maryland. She received her bachelor’s degree at Western Maryland College and later attended the University of Maryland Medical School. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Maryland Medical System.
