After the life changing event of her daughter’s cancer diagnosis in 2004, DeeJo Miller’s focus shifted to helping helping families who enter the the hospital system. She collaborates with staff by facilitating the integration of family voices as a Program Manager in the Patient and Family Engagement Department. She managers over 200 PFAs and 17 PFACs. The work of the PFAs has a powerful influence on quality, safety, and experience of care at Children’s Mercy.
