Coretté Byrd

Coretté Byrd is currently a Senior Associate in the Division of Medical Practice, Professionalism and Quality at the American College of Physicians (ACP).  In this role, Coretté focuses on collaborations with external entities related to the medical home and other related initiatives (e.g., commercial/private payers, the Primary Care Collaborative, employers, etc.); assists with the development of new programs/products/services to support practice change and improvement, and support translation of policy into practice while helping to develop policy from lessons learned by practicing clinicians. Prior to joining ACP, Coretté worked for Unity Health Care, a large, complex community health center where she held different positions throughout her tenure; Nurse Manager, Regulatory Affairs Specialist, and most recently Manager, Quality Improvement & Risk Management.   Prior to Unity Health Care, Coretté worked as a Nurse Manager for a Cardiology Practice, as a Critical Care Nurse in a community hospital, and a Senior Medical Claims Specialist for a large insurance company. Coretté received a M.S. in Health Policy from George Mason University, a B.S. in Nursing from Georgetown University, and a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Alabama.
