Each year, MHA's Annual Conference brings together affiliates, consumers, providers, family members and advocates from across the country to talk about important and emerging mental health issues. This year's theme, Dueling Diagnoses: Mental Health and Chronic Conditions in Children and Adults will explore the dynamic that exists between persistent conditions, including those that are broader in natures, and the intersection of these conditions with mental health. There will be a Pre-Con Day for MHA Affiliates only on June 12, see below for registration access information.

MHA will host keynote speakers and panelists, breakout speakers, experts in their fields, that will share their keen insights. The event will give policy makers and advocates alike, the chance to learn, expand personal development, and connect with like-minded passionate individuals.

The Focus: MHA's content will be developed around understanding understanding underlying factors that lead to both physical and mental health concerns in children and adults;

Recognizing and distinguishing the symptoms and characteristics of the mental health conditions that may be present in people with physical, intellectual, and cognitive conditions and limitation; and

Developing and identifying strategies that can be used by individuals, advocates, and providers across conditions to work on behalf of the whole person and move everyone along pathways to recovery, as we define those.

We are going to talk both about mental health and traditional chronic conditions and also co-occurring issues that are broader in nature such as a poverty, trauma and racism.
