Primary care is confronted with challenges from all sides. Primary care leaders and teams must navigate financial constriction, low workplace morale, restrictive payment models, rising health care costs, increasingly aging populations, the integration of behavioral health, and patient satisfaction. In 2017, new payment policies will also present new challenges and opportunities for today’s primary care teams. Through this case-based, executive education program, participants will learn how to successfully prepare for changes in payment and navigate challenges with ease. Using Harvard Medical School’s Center for Primary Care Case Series, participants will learn from exemplary practices from around the world. The program will pair case-based discussion sessions led by Harvard faculty with opportunities to learn directly from these exemplar primary care practices/systems that have shifted to delivery models which include interdisciplinary strategies, team-based approaches, leadership involvement to implement systems-level change, and stronger links between public health, communities, and health systems.
