Please join us Wednesday, September 17th from 12:00-1:00pm ET, for a special presentation by Deborah Bachrach on her recently released Commonwealth Fund Report: State Strategies for Integrating Physical and Behavioral Health Services in a Changing Medicaid Environment.  Drawing on a review of the literature and interviews with diverse stakeholders, this report explores strategies that states are deploying to address or eliminate system-level barriers to integrated care for medically complex and high-cost Medicaid populations.

Deborah Bachrach, JD, Partner, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP, has more than 25 years of experience in health policy and financing in both the public and private sectors and an extensive background in Medicaid policy and healthcare reform. She works with states, providers, plans and foundations in implementing federal health reform and Medicaid including Medicaid expansion strategies and payment and delivery system reforms. From 2007 to 2010, Ms. Bachrach served as New York’s Medicaid Director and Deputy Commissioner of Health for the Office of Health Insurance Programs, where she led the state’s efforts to expand eligibility, streamline enrollment, and rationalize New York’s payment policies. Working closely with the Deputy Superintendent of Insurance, she oversaw the state’s efforts to influence developing federal health reform legislation. She has served as an advisor to the Center for Health Care Strategies, the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC), and the Kaiser Family Foundation and is a frequent commentator on Medicaid coverage and reform strategies.  Ms. Bachrach received her JD from New York University School of Law and a BS from University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School.
