This month we have been focusing our learning events and programming on eHealth and its role in the patient-centered medical home. We'll be featuring news, resources, and presentations by eHealth experts, to keep you informed about current happenings in the eHealth marketplace.

Activities and Achievements
eHealth Special Interest Group Launches
On May 7th, our 
eHealth Special Interest Group (SIG) kick-offed activities with their first group call, drawing dozens of participants from across the country and disciplines to exchange knowledge about emerging topics in eHealth. To join future monthly calls (first Tuesdays at Noon ET), please subscribe to the group here.

eHealth Case Study: Maximizing Care Teams and Health IT to Improve Patient Care
Another exciting resource that we will be making available in the coming months are various case studies that highlight innovative medical home practices. Our first case study features Union Health Center in New York City, and their efforts to adopt a care team model focused on chronic disease management through the use of patient registries. Join the Conversation: Behavioral Health

We recently launched an online chat forum for our Behavioral Health SIG, with plans to move these conversations to our other interest groups in the near future.  Check out the group's first forum here, which is on the topic of Oregon's Health Reform Experiment.  Join the conversation and share each others comments via Facebook and Twitter.  To suggest other topic threads pertaining to Behavioral Health, please email Tara Hacker at thacker@pcpcc.net.

Update on our Education & Training Database
Special thanks to our Task Force leadership and volunteers for helping us collect more than 100 residency and health professionals training models.  These submissions are helping us build an online database that will promote collaborative, patient-centered primary care, and inform primary care stakeholders about best practices. The Alliance for Health Reform hosted a panel discussion where experts discussed current evidence of patient-centered medical home models, potential cost savings, and future challenges.

Person-Centered Health Care Reform
The Brookings Institution recently released a Congressional framework for health care reform with estimates of $300 billion in federal net savings over the next 10 years.






Health IT & Value-Based Insurance Design
The University of Michigan's Center for Value-Based Insurance Design (V-BID) recently released a brief that highlights the alignment of eHealth and V-BID. The brief provides an overview of a 'carrot' and 'stick' model, and its impact on health care quality and costs.

Person-Centered Health Care Reform
