Rosi Sweeney serving as Interim CEO of PCPCC

Happy 2017 from the PCPCC!

This new year begins with lots of changes – we bid farewell to my friend Marci Neilsen and thank her for her leadership of the PCPCC for the past 5 years, we await the inauguration of a new President, and we prepare for a new administration in Washington, all while continuing to drive our healthcare system toward one that is grounded in primary care and focused on patients.

I'm happy to serve as Interim CEO and help steer our progress as we enter 2017 and the Board conducts a thorough search for a permanent successor. Our work this year will include many aspects of primary care and items of particular interest to our member organizations.

Among other items, we will develop the annual evidence report, providing accurate information about the cost and quality of patient-centered medical homes (see the 2016 report here); finalize the Shared P
rinciples of Person-Centered Primary Care, which we most recently discussed at our Annual Meeting this November; examine updating our Annual Meeting structure; and embark on an effort for widespread endorsement and implementation of important primary care principles.

We will also continue to provide a laser focus on alternative payment models and value-based care, including the progress
of MACRA and CMS programs like CPC+. We will continue to engage with you - our members -  and provide opportunities for learning, advocacy and networking.

As we begin this new year, please continue your active involvement in the PCPCC and let me know what your priorities are for 2017.

Rosemarie Sweeney, MPA
Interim Chief Executive Officer
