Update from Cabinet Leadership

Message from our Director of Programs, Tara Hacker.  Welcome to the December update from the Employer & Purchaser Engagement Center! As the new Center Lead I will be in charge of coordinating activities across our five Stakeholder Centers. I want to thank each of you for actively participating and continuing to support the advancement of primary care and the medical home model. I look forward to working with you all as this Center's work progresses.

Center Goal: Among employers, purchasers and payers, increase access to the patient-centered medical home (PCMH), built on a strong primary care foundation.

Center leadership held its November conference call to further refine a work plan.  Click here to review detailed minutes from the call.

During this call, cabinet members discussed:

  • Previous Phytel webinar featuring the PCPCC on the 2012 benefits of implementing the medial home report; and upcoming webinar on electronic tools to incentivize medical home care between employers, clinicians, and patients.
  • PCPCC Task Force working with outside researchers to manage study and publication on wellness and prevention services among primary care practices.
  • Partnering opportunities with NASHP and the University of Michigan's Center for Value-Based Insurance Design.
  • Three "Big Ideas" under PCPCC Board Review and their potential benefits and challenges: (1) employer/provider key stakeholder meeting, (2) medical home mapper, and (3) public engagement and outreach.
For questions pertaining to this Center, please contact Tara Hacker at thacker@pcpcc.net.  To learn about other PCPCC centers or sign up for our topic-specific mailing lists, please visit our website, www.pcpcc.net.
