Kristin Geonnotti

Dr. Kristin Geonnotti, a health services researcher at Mathematica Policy Research, is an expert on evaluations of primary care redesign. She has examined strategies for improving the delivery of primary care through medical homes for several projects funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). As part of this work, she authored various papers and briefs, and a guide on developing practice facilitation programs. She also works on three large federal evaluations for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), conducting both Medicare claims analyses and implementation evaluations. These evaluations focus on a range of health care delivery and payment reforms that aim to achieve better quality of care, improve population health, and lower costs through improvement of the care delivery processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) beneficiaries. She has also provided technical assistance to states and payers on the collection and usability of performance measures related to PCMH implementation. She received her Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Health Policy and Management.
