Care Considerations for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (ECHO) project

The American Academy of Pediatrics is recruiting up to 50 healthcare professionals to join a 7-month ECHO with the goal of increasing their skills and knowledge of emerging therapies and updated care considerations for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

Practices will engage in the ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model, a telementoring platform that leverages video conference technology to connect experts with primary care teams in local communities, fostering an “all teach, all learn” approach.

Who should apply:

  • DMD Clinic Teams
  • Primary care providers who care for children with DMD
  • Pediatric specialists who care for children with DMD
  • Occupational/physical therapists who care for children with DMD

  • Increase knowledge regarding emerging therapies for management of DMD.
  • Increase knowledge of updated care considerations for children with DMD.
  • Network and problem solve with others
  • Participating pediatricians will have the opportunity to earn American Board of Pediatrics Part 2 Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit (pending approval) as well as continuing education credits

The ECHO sessions will occur on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month November 3, 2021-May 11, 2022, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. CT via Zoom.
