PFCC.Connect Chat on Engaging Patient and Family Advisors in Quality Improvement and Safety Initiatives

Event Horizontal

Overview

The safety imperative is paramount in healthcare today. Our systems do not produce the clinical, safety, or quality outcomes patients and families deserve and health care professionals seek to achieve. Changing payment models are tying reimbursement to value. Organizations across the continuum are striving to transform the system of care to produce value. Partnering with patient and family advisors (PFA) to improve quality is a strategy some organizations have embraced. The PFAs perspectives, ideas, and willingness to seek mutually beneficial solutions is appreciated by many. If you are a PFA, what experience have you had working on quality improvement? If you are a healthcare professional, how have you engage PFAs in your quality work? What strategies have shown promising results? How are PFAs integrated into existing operational teams working on these issues. Our discussion will highlight and share the experiences and challenges of PFA engagement. Won’t you join us and share your lessons learned?

These informal conversations are participatory in nature, building on the experience and strengths of those who join the call. We do not do a presentation but rather let the discussion be guided by what the participants want to learn more about through the sharing of our collective experiences. Come join the conversation to learn from others and to share your successes and challenges. Mary Minniti, Senior Policy and Program Specialist, will facilitate this discussion.
