A number of new therapies are now emerging that show promise for those with cancer, neurodegenerative conditions, and other diseases for which there is no cure. Implementation of the 21st Century Cures Act is helping to pave the way for safe and effective treatments to reach patients more quickly.  At the same time, the amount of clinical and patient-generated data is exploding. A majority of the nation’s providers are using electronic health records (EHRs) and the use of digital health tools by individuals is increasingly becoming the norm. The administration’s significant focus on interoperability and information sharing is helping to mobilize data to improve health and health care.
