On February 2, 2016, the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative unveiled its highly anticipated new annual patient-centered medical home (PCMH) evidence report at a briefing on Capitol Hill and on its website. As in previous editions, this year's report, "The Patient-Centered Medical Home's Impact on Cost and Quality: Annual Review of Evidence 2014-2015," summarizes PCMH cost and utilization results from peer-reviewed studies, state government evaluations, and industry reports published within the past year. New this year, the report also includes early federal program evaluations published between October 2014 and November 2015.

In the report, we review the recent evidence for PCMH and advanced primary care in light of new and long-awaited developments in health system payment reform, including Medicare’s transition to value-based payments, passage of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), significant multi-payer and state-level reforms taking place across the United States, and increasing commercial interest and investment in a strong foundation of advanced primary care.

At the Capitol Hill briefing, co-hosted by U.S. Representatives Joe Courtney (D-CT) and David Rouzer (R-NC) who serve as co-chairs of the Congressional Primary Care Caucus, health care policy and industry experts discussed highlights from the report, the latest patient-centered medical home (PCMH) evidence, and innovative payment reform models. They also focused on how to apply the latest evidence to help mold future payment reform efforts.

Order Hard Copies: Tangible copies of the publication are available free for current PCPCC executive members and are $10 each for non-members. Please email Katy Hill if you would like to order hard copies.
