PCPCC Mission
Founded in 2006, the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative  is dedicated to advancing an effective and efficient health system built on a strong foundation of primary care and the patient-centered medical home (PCMH). The non-partisan PCPCC achieves its mission through the work of its diverse stakeholder membership, leveraging delivery and payment reform, patient engagement, and benefit redesign strategies to transform primary care. The PCPCC’s membership includes physician and nursing societies, employers, payers, health systems, consumer advocates and more.
 
 
Position Summary
 
The PCPCC is seeking a full-time Senior Manager of Policy to help develop and implement the organization’s policy and advocacy agenda focused on making primary care more robust and patient centered. This individual will report directly to the CEO and work with diverse leaders across the PCPCC membership.  The Senior Manager of Policy will keep abreast of relevant policy developments, analyze select bills and regulations, develop materials that support the policy program, and cultivate relationships necessary to achieve the organization’s policy and advocacy goals.  In addition, the Senior Manager of Policy is responsible for Member Education, including organizing regular webinars and providing input to the annual conference program.  Finally, the Senior Manager of Policy will work with the CEO on special grant-funded projects related to PCPCC’s policy goals and keep the PCPCC Board of Directors abreast of primary care policy developments. 
This is an outstanding opportunity for mid-career level candidates with demonstrated experience in health policy to work with senior leaders from across the health care community. We seek candidates that are passionate about advocating for policies that can facilitate primary care transformation, and can thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and entrepreneurial environment. Ideal candidates bring a blend of skills –managing multiple projects and tasks, writing and policy analysis skills, coalition building, as well as intellectual curiosity, and collaboration – to their work at the PCPCC.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
 
Policy and Advocacy 
• Lead PCPCC Executive Member meetings and workgroups to shape federal policy positions
• Track policy developments and provide internal updates to staff and the Board 
• Analyze relevant legislation and regulations for how they may affect primary care
• Develop PCPCC positions and codify in letters, via social media channels and other communication vehicles 
• Identify new opportunities to build partnership and relationships that advance PCPCC’s strategic and/or operational goals 
 
 
Educational Programing 
• Oversee the development of content for educational programs and events including webinars, national briefings and conferences
• Work with members, leadership and staff to identify and prepare speakers to present on timely issues and subjects of interest to PCPCC members 
• Work with senior leaders to develop policy content for the PCPCC website, staff presentations and Board materials 
 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
• At least 5 years of experience in program and/or policy management in a public/private/nonprofit health care environment.  Capitol Hill experience is a plus. 
• Master’s degree or law degree in health-related field, public health or equivalent preferred 
• High personal and professional integrity and proven ability to work within a team 
• Well-developed analytic, writing and presentation skills 
• Experience and ability to work independently
• Experience and ability to influence and collaborate in a diverse workplace
• Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage projects and prioritize workloads
• Passionate about enhancing primary care  
 
COMPENSATION 
This is a full-time position located in Washington, D.C. with excellent benefits, including health care and 401K as well as a generous vacation benefit.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
