Marketing Intern

The Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) seeks a highly organized, self-motivated part-time intern to work in our Washington, DC office. This position will be responsible for a wide range of communications and marketing duties as part of a small team. They will also have the opportunity to work with a wide range of healthcare thought leaders and stakeholders to support PCPCC membership engagement efforts. The Marketing Intern will be paid. 

PCPCC Background: Founded in 2006, PCPCC is a not-for-profit multi-stakeholder membership organization dedicated to advancing an effective and efficient health system built on a strong foundation of primary care and the patient-centered medical home. Representing a broad group of public and private organizations – including payers, healthcare clinicians and other providers, leading corporations and patient and consumer advocacy groups – the PCPCC’s mission is to unify and engage diverse stakeholders in promoting policies and sharing best practices that support growth of high-performing primary care to achieve the “Quadruple Aim”: better care, better health, lower costs, and greater joy for clinicians and staff in delivery of care.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Associate Director of Communications and other staff to help implement a proactive membership strategy that engages members and increases the visibility of PCPCC with prospective members
  • Help to evolve PCPCC’s member value proposition and articulate the value of PCPCC membership through written and digital communications to appropriate audiences
  • Work with staff to manage operations that include new member application review and approval, prospect research, briefings and membership kits, member onboarding, customer service and database management (CRM)
  • Help develop and implement systems to track member engagement and satisfaction with PCPCC programming
  • Assist the Associate Director of Communications in engaging members in opportunities to participate in PCPCC programming and events
  • Assist the PCPCC staff in developing slide decks for meetings
  • Help identify and explore potential new projects and partnership opportunities that engage members and further PCPCC’s core advocacy, patient engagement, and evidence dissemination efforts

Internship Details  

  • PCPCC specifically requests current graduate students or undergradue students who can work part-time during the school year (at least 16 hours a week)  
  • PCPCC is willing to work with students to develop projects that meet credit or practicum requirements as long as they are in line with PCPCC priorities.  

Internship Qualifications  

  • Interns must currently be enrolled at an accredited university or college. 
  • Students wishing to join PCPCC as interns should have strong written and oral communication skills, an ability to multi-task, and a demonstrated interest in communications/marketing/business.
