PCPCC TCPI Grant/Policy Internship

Internship Description

PCPCC is a not-for-profit multi-stakeholder membership organization dedicated to advancing an effective and efficient health system built on a strong foundation of primary care and the patient-centered medical home. Through a federally funded grant, Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative (TCPI), the PCPCC serves as a Support & Alignment Network (SAN) for Patients, Caregivers & Community Engagement to provide technical assistance to participating stakeholder organizations to help clinicians achieve large-scale health transformation. The initiative is one part of a strategy to strengthen the quality of patient care and spend health care dollars more wisely. Working in partnership with diverse stakeholder organizations and Executive Members of PCPCC we are using this federal grant to further advance the vision of improved quality of care while reducing unnecessary costs. 

The Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative seeks a paid intern with a strong interest in health policy and health system improvement. This intern will work on a variety projects with emphasis on TCPI grant-related tasks, policy research, writing, and member-related tasks.

Internship Responsibilities

  • Track program data, emerging best practices, and metrics related to patient/family engagement, including assisting in developing reports for CMS project officers.
     
  • Work with the Program Director and TCPI partners in identifying strategies for advancing and disseminating best practices in patient/family engagement and community partnerships
     
  • Monitor news, blogs and social media sources for news related to patient/family engagement, TCPI and healthcare initiatives to develop content for PCPCC’s general website and the TCPI website
     
  • Assist the Policy Director in regulatory, legislative, and policy research to support PCPCC policy documents, public comment letters, and member resources

 Internship Qualifications

  • Interns must currently be enrolled in a graduate-level program at an accredited university or college. Exceptional undergraduate candidates will be considered as well.
     
  • Students wishing to join PCPCC as interns should have a strong interest in program management, excellent communication skills (written and oral), an ability to multi-task, and a demonstrated interest in health system quality improvement and health policy.
