Charles M. Yarborough

Charles Yarborough, MD, MPH, FACOEM, FACPM, is the Director of Medical Strategies for Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC) based in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Yarborough has over 20 years of experience in guiding health initiatives for several corporations including Exxon and Caterpillar and as a private practice physician. Before joining LMC he was Senior Managing Scientist in New York City for Exponent, a global engineering and health consulting firm.Dr. Yarborough attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he obtained a B.S. in chemistry and his Doctor of Medicine degree; he also obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Yarborough had an internship and his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston followed by an occupational medicine mini-residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.Dr. Yarborough is Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Preventive/Occupational Medicine. He holds active medical licenses in Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Texas, and Alabama. Currently, Dr. Yarborough is on the medical staff at Johns Hopkins Medicine Suburban Hospital, and is an Associate in the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He is also an advisor for a medical residency training program at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center, and an appointed member of the Operating Model and Insurance Rules Committee for Maryland’s Health Insurance Exchange Board. Dr. Yarborough has held clinical appointments as Chief Physician of the Veterans Administration Health Care System and at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Previously, Dr. Yarborough served on a health advisory committee for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, reporting to the Director.
